Rob Moore – How To Balance The Important Things in Life

Sep 24, 2020 | Visionary Men, Work & Career

Rob Moore lives and loves entrepreneurship and property investing, he runs several businesses and is the host of two successful podcasts. He lives up to his brand and disrupts as an entrepreneur, with interests ranging from property development to public speaking and digital media. He is on a mission to change the way people think about business and aims to support people around the globe through the Rob Moore Foundation.

Rob co-founded Progressive Property – the UK’s leading property training company – and Unlimited Success with his business partner, before becoming the host of the wildly successful podcast “The Disruptive Entrepreneur” and now “The Money Podcast”, listened to in 192 countries worldwide. This has grown into a complete digital agency: Progressive Media.

A self-made multi-millionaire by the age of 30, having risen to riches from being heavily in debt in his 20s, Rob has retired and un-retired countless times (one of his epic weaknesses), each time creating a new innovation, vision, book or entire company.

Rob is a writer, communicator, social media influencer and philanthropist. His 8 books have been translated into more than a dozen languages and received over 9,000 reviews (and 200 1* ratings!). He is a highly sought-after public speaker, having given 1,200 speeches in the last decade and held 2 world records for the longest individual speech marathon. He has the rare skill of cutting to the chase, using his personal experience to help others and entertain in a disruptive way.

Through the Rob Moore Foundation, he provides an opportunity for under-privileged individuals, start-ups and small established businesses to gain valuable support, investment and mentorship from some of the best in the business. All his profits from his book Money go to the Foundation.

“when you ask others for help you give them a gift”

rob and I discussed the following in this episode:

  • Rob’s view on work/life balance and how the graft and sweat model is outdated in this current day and age.

  • How Rob has found that the more he gets involved in his companies often, the more he holds them back. He has realized that he has to let go in order to grow. There is a time to work hard and time to work smart.

  • The key is finding the balance for you and you should be leveraging all the tools available to you.

  • His book Routine = Results and why many entrepreneurs struggle with the balancing life outside of work with life inside work and what should be delegating.

  • Rob’s view on mentors and coaches and how he believes in “standing on the shoulders of giants” and getting results in the shortest possible time frame. Rob recommends finding someone who has walked the path you want to follow you, will challenge and support you, but not over pedastalising them

  • The way in which priorities change and how Rob is revisiting health and fitness, hobbies, interests and other relationships

  • Rob sees that you have to work at happiness, being present, focus, concentration, he talks about NET time leverage (No Extra Time Leverage) doing 2-3 things at once.

  • We explored how Rob has developed his brand and how he has become more comfortable with himself over the years which reflects in his content.

  • How Rob has met his creative need in his companies, his content and projects, he tries to balance serving his audience with having his own mind and personality on things.

  • Why guys are so resistant at asking for help and how in Robs experience, when you ask for help with something help will come to you.

  • How situations in life expose your weaknesses and often your biggest strength can also be your biggest weakness.

  • The lesson we can learn about parenting, how we were brought up, how we bring our kids up, and how every experience reveals the upside and downside of you.
